Problem Note 66190: The HA service and job status update routine cause delays for the host status
The high-availability (HA) service that is called by the status manager in SAS® Grid Manager tries to restart a failing service. Unfortunately, if the service has to wait to restart for a longer amount of time than the host inactive time-out, the host appears to be inactive to the master and all of its jobs might be killed.
Similarly, when the status manager calls the job status update routine, it sends a job status update to the master for each job. If the job has a lot of output lines, it could cause the host status to be delayed.
A workaround is to make the host inactive time-out the minimum amount of time that is needed for the longest service wait time.
